Everyday living skills
Practical help with planning routines, organising belongings, keeping on top of household tasks and breaking activities into manageable steps.
Friendly, respectful help with everyday routines, independence, companionship and community activities — shaped around the person, their choices and their goals.
We start by listening to the person and discussing what they would find helpful. Support is agreed individually and is intended to encourage choice and independence, not take them away.

Support with shopping lists, comparing everyday items, running local errands and practising skills that help with day-to-day independence.
Help with planning straightforward meals, preparing ingredients and organising food shopping, where appropriate and agreed.
Friendly company, shared hobbies, conversation and support to take part in suitable social or community activities.
Help with calendars, lists, letters and organising everyday tasks in ways that make sense to the individual.
Where the adult agrees, we can communicate with family members or other chosen supporters to help keep practical arrangements consistent.
An initial conversation can help establish the person’s goals, the practical support they would like, where support is needed and whether our service is suitable. The adult should be involved as much as possible in this discussion.
Service boundaries: Hastings Home Support is intended to provide non-regulated practical home help and companionship. We do not provide personal care, clinical care, medication administration, behaviour support requiring specialist training, or other regulated care services. Any support must be within our competence and agreed service scope.
Our planned hourly rate for non-regulated practical support and companionship is £16. We’ll discuss the tasks, visit length and total cost before agreeing any support.
